The inauguration ceremony of the Graduate Mentor Scheme (GMS) held on April 6th was a resounding success. We are thrilled to announce that 52 mentor-mentee pairs have been established, enabling students to benefit from the invaluable insights of their experienced mentors. The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including the President Ir Barry P T SUM of HKUEAA, Associate Dean Professor S.C. Wong of HKU Engineering Faculty, and Chairman Mr Leo Poon of HKU Engineering Society.

The inauguration ceremony was made even more remarkable with inspiring sharing sessions from mentors and mentees who participated in the GMS in previous years. Their valuable advice and guidance were warmly received by both new mentors and mentees who have just joined the program.

To foster stronger connections between mentors and mentees, a delightful tea gathering session was organized at Cafe 1951 in HKU. This provided a relaxed environment for mentors and mentees to engage in meaningful interactions while enjoying refreshments.

Since its inception in 2000, the GMS has become a highly anticipated annual event for engineering students and alumni. It plays a pivotal role in strengthening the bonds between HKU alumni, engineers, and students. Through the extensive network of HKUEAA, we have been able to gather a remarkable lineup of renowned and experienced mentors from various fields. These mentors serve as role models, sharing their professional knowledge and life experiences with mentees. With the guidance and support of their mentors, mentees gain valuable insights and establish connections that pave the way for their future careers.

The GMS is truly a transformative experience, providing a platform for personal and professional growth. We are proud to continue this tradition and look forward to witnessing the remarkable journeys of our mentees as they embark on their future endeavors.
