To help students navigate the evolving engineering career landscape in the AI era, HKUEAA partnered with the Engineering Society, HKU, to host Career Navigation – Explore Engineering Careers and Industry Insights on 17 October 2026.

The workshop began with Mr. Kelvin Leung from The Hongkong Electric Company Limited sharing insights into the essential skills and capabilities expected of future engineers, as well as how AI is reshaping recruitment.

Ir Michelle Cheung, content creator of mori_thebeaver, then introduced the diverse roles, responsibilities, opportunities and career pathways across the engineering industry, encouraging students to explore and plan their future careers.

We were also delighted to welcome Mr. Horis Leung, Ms. Hilary Sin, Mr. Dave Wong and Ir Alex Wan, who shared their career journeys and professional experiences across their respective organisations. Their insights gave students a clearer understanding of the workplace exposure, training and development opportunities available to young engineers.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A and networking session, enabling students to seek career advice and build professional connections.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all speakers, supporters and participants for helping students navigate their future career paths.
