Technical Visit to WEEE · PARK

The H.K.U. Engineering Alumni Association (H.K.U.E.A.A.) will hold a technical visit to WEEE · PARK at EcoPark, Tuen Mun.

Join the technical visit to learn more about Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) treatment and recycling facilities in Hong Kong.

WEEE contains harmful materials such as lead, mercury and greenhouse gases, which may cause harm to the environment and human health if not properly treated or disposed of.

As one of the leading facilities of its kind in the world, WEEE · PARK adopts advanced technologies to turn regulated WEEE into valuable secondary raw materials through a series of detoxification, dismantling and recycling processes. Stringent control over hazardous components contained in WEEE is exercised in the process.

The facility adopts different green building features, including a rainwater harvesting system, a solar water heating system, and a green architectural design to maximise the use of natural lighting and ventilation.

The event is free of charge. Certificate of Attendance will be available.

Remarks:

· Applicants who are not yet HKUEAA members should join the membership (https://www.alumni.hku.hk/hkueaa/registration.html) prior to the technical visit registration so as to secure the places.

· Successful participants will receive a confirmation email and for those who do not show up without prior notice and valid reason, your application for participating upcoming 2 consecutive visits will be affected.
