Technical Visit to In-situ Reprovisioning of the Sha Tin Water Treatment Works (South Works)

The H.K.U. Engineering Alumni Association (H.K.U.E.A.A.) is going to hold a technical visit to In-situ Reprovisioning of the Sha Tin Water Treatment Works (South Works).

The project is to increase the treatment capacity of the South Works of Sha Tin water treatment works from 364,000 cubic metres per day to 550,000 cubic metres per day to meet the anticipated increase in fresh water demand due to housing developments and to reprovision the aged water treatment facilities.

The works include site formation, reprovisioning of the administration building, the residual management facility, the South Works pumping station and treatment processing units, etc.

This mega-project, involving engineering knowledge and techniques in multi-disciplines, is now under full-swing. Participants are required to:

1. Bring a valid Green Card or equivalent credentials;

2. Wear their own safety shoes;

The event is free of charge. Certificate of Attendance will be available.

Remarks:

• Applicants who are not yet HKUEAA members should join the membership (https://www.alumni.hku.hk/hkueaa/registration.html) prior to the technical visit registration so as to secure the places.

• Successful participants will receive a confirmation email and for those who do not show up without prior notice and valid reason, your application for participating upcoming 2 consecutive visits would be affected.
