Technical Visit to CKR - YMTW

The H.K.U. Engineering Alumni Association (H.K.U.E.A.A.) is going to hold a technical visit to Central Kowloon Route - Yau Ma Tei West.


Central Kowloon Route (CKR) is a 4.7 km long dual 3-lane trunk road connecting the Yau Ma Tei Interchange of West Kowloon with Kai Tak Development Area and road network of Kowloon Bay. The route, including a tunnel of about 3.9km, aims to relieve traffic congestion on the existing east-west roads across Central Kowloon and enhance linkages between districts.


The works include excavation of depressed road at Yau Cheung Road works site, construction of landscaped deck at Hoi Wang Road works site, and construction of ventilation adit and connection bridges at Lin Cheung Road works site etc.


This mega-project, involving engineering knowledge and techniques in multi-disciplines, is now under full-swing. Details of the visit are as follows:

  • Time: 9:30am - 12:00nn

  • Assembly Venue: Kowloon City (Exact Venue will be advised to Successful Applicants)

  • Language: Cantonese

  • Vacancies: 20



Participants are required to:


1. Bring a valid Green Card or equivalent credentials;

2. Wear their own safety shoes;


The event is free of charge. Certificate of Attendance will be available.


Remarks:


• Applicants who are not yet HKUEAA members should join the membership (https://www.alumni.hku.hk/hkueaa/registration.html) prior to the technical visit registration so as to secure the places.


• Successful participants will receive a confirmation email and for those who do not show up without prior notice and valid reason, your application for participating upcoming 2 consecutive visits would be affected.
