Engineering Alumni Association (HKUEAA) is thrilled to present our highlight event of the summer: the 50th Anniversary Overseas Study Tour to the UK—A Study for a Livable and Sustainable Future, to be led by senior figures in the profession !
The tour offers you a chance to dive into a fascinating blend of history, heritage, and innovation as we explore how the UK leads the charge in sustainable solutions and cutting-edge technology. From smart infrastructure to flood control, you'll witness firsthand the UK's visionary approaches to sustainability and self-sufficiency!
Highlights of the tour include:
(1) Cambridge: Discover the prestigious University of Cambridge, meet the brightest minds and enjoy a delightful punting tour through the scenic town.
(2) Oxford: Explore the iconic University of Oxford and the magnificent Great Hall in Christ Church.
(3) Thames Barrier: Marvel at this impressive retractable barrier system that protects London from high tides and storm surges.
(4) Professional Institutions: Exclusive guided tour in the headquarters of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and exchange with experts.
(5) London City Walk: Take a leisurely stroll through the heart of London and River Thames, visiting landmarks like the Parliament, Big Ben, and Tower Bridge.
(6) UK Power Networks: Visit the asset of the UK’s largest Distribution Network Operator and appreciate the smart grid facilities.
Details of the tour are as follows:
Date: 1st June to 8th June 2025 (Sunday to Sunday)
Fee: $28,600 per head (flight with tax, local accommodation, transportation & meals inclusive)
