To celebrate our 50th Anniversary this year, HKUEAA has joined hands with the HKU Faculty of Engineering to launch the InnoQUEST programme, offering opportunities to the HKU Engineering students to work with guidance from the mentors of the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) and CLP Power (many of whom are also HKU Engineering Alumni) on the following projects:
(i) Smart Robotics Solutions for Slope Maintenance Inspection
(ii) Smart Analysis System for Seawalls and Breakwaters
(iii) Automated Coating Robotics for Overhead Lines
Ir Michael Fong, Vice President (Event & Programme) of HKUEAA and Professor David Srolovitz, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, HKU officiated at the InnoQUEST Kick-off Ceremony on Tuesday, 8 April 2025, at the Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing Two of HKU. The student representatives also shared their innovative ideas and study approaches to leverage cutting-edge technologies, such as Robotics, Generative AI, and the Internet of Things (IoT), to “QUEST” for “Inno”vative solutions to the real-world engineering challenges.
Each project team has already started the project briefing and site demonstrations holding fruitful in-depth discussions with their mentors.
HKUEAA is delighted to receive support from the CEDD and CLP Power on this meaningful programme to nurture the future engineering talents.
